Known for its diving destinations, mountain climbing, and camel riding, Dahab also has one of the most treasured kitesurfing spots in Sinai. For the past few decades, Dahab has been attracting a various amount of tourism, mainly known for its backpacker vibe of traveling, which especially suits the adventurous kitesurfer who is up for a journey, surfing at several spectacular spots.

Most Egyptian athlete riders typically reside in Cairo or Alexandria, creating limited access and difficulty in transportation preventing them from reaching their favorite spots. This means that in order to plan a fruitful trip one has to select the timing of the trip along with convenient wind conditions which could get quite irritating.

Kitesurfing has been thriving in Dahab thanks to its famously smooth waves, stable winds, and beautiful mountain scenery, it simply offers kiters many different spots with an authentic riding experience. Along with wind howling 266 days a year, Dahab also has various spots that offer varying wind conditions for kiters of different levels.

With that being said, the Dahabians are gifted with the luxury of practicing such a sport more often than most kiters.

The youth bedouins of Dahab, the natives of the land, began finding appeal to the sport of kitesurfing thanks to there treasured kite surfing areas, which attracted professional kiters from everywhere exposing Dahab to a rich and diverse kitesurfing scene, which allowed local kiters to learn different tricks and techniques.

The Young Bedouins grasped the opportunity and some of them already went to compete at several national competitions, which lead to the sport trending amongst those youngsters and they most certainly have been showing many promising talents and championship potentials.

Finally Kiteboarding is set to make its debut in the Olympics Marseille, Paris 2024, and by then we hope to see the first Olympic team being represented by the growing talents of Egyptian kiters, and who knows we might even witness the first Dahab bedouin gold medalist of Egypt.
